Chopard at Watches & Wonders 2023 For Watches & Wonders 2023, Chopard has prepared a number of pieces from its main collections: Alpine Eagle 41 XPS, Happy Hearts, Happy Sport and IMPERIALE.
Alpine Eagle 41 XPS in Lucent Steel A223 New models with small seconds display, double chronometer and Hallmark of Geneva certification
With the Alpine Eagle, Chopard has created a modern sporty chic collection characterized by the combination of pure design with complex mechanisms. After the flyback chronograph movement, the high-frequency movement and the flying tourbillon, Alpine Eagle launched an ultra-thin model with small seconds indication. Measuring just 3.30 mm thick, the LUC 96.40-L movement is one of the masterpieces of the watchmakers at the Chopard Manufacture. Its advanced features allow the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS to move with chronometer-certified precision while guaranteeing a power reserve of 65 hours thanks to Chopard Twin technology. The Alpine Eagle 41 XPS watch with a 41 mm diameter case and integrated bracelet is entirely crafted in the Maison's workshops in Lucent Steel A223: a unique, ultra-durable and very shiny alloy made of 85% recycled materials . Its optimal proportions and textured "Monte Rosa Pink" dial endow this model with undeniable elegance and distinction; while its finishes reflect the highest standards of Haute Horlogerie, earning the coveted Hallmark of Geneva recognition .
Inspired by the classic Chopard watches reinterpreted by three generations of the Schaefer family, the Alpine Eagle series has continuously introduced new achievements since its launch. The latest of these is the iconic movement of the Chopard Manufacture, which has been developed thanks to the watchmaking expertise steadily accumulated in its workshops since 1996, and which introduces a small second in the Alpine Eagle collection. The LUC 96.40-L movement shown bears a vibrant testimony. With the release of the Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon model in 2022, the small seconds display makes its debut in the collection and is very popular among watch lovers. Now, it once again embodies the collection's horological roots, comprising timepieces driven by in-house movements with chronometer-certified precision, meticulously decorated and equipped with key innovations of the manufacturer, such as gold micro-rotors and Chopard twin technology. With the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS, Chopard has combined the finest Chopard-manufactured movements with the sporty elegance of the Alpine Eagle collection.
Precision-certified movement The most notable feature of the LUC 96.40-L movement is its ultra-thinness: thanks to the development of the first Chopard-manufactured movement (the LUC 96.01-L launched in 1997), it is only 3.30 mm thick. To facilitate precise time setting, it is equipped with a stop-seconds function. It also features a swan neck, which allows finer adjustments to the frequency of oscillation - and thus the rate of the watch - by helping to modify the length of the moving hairspring. In addition to technical interest, the swan neck also gives the movement a more refined aesthetic. The movement also powers the small seconds display, and its accuracy is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, as evidenced by the "Chronometer" inscription on the dial below the logo.
The LUC 96.40-L caliber uses two stacked barrels based on Chopard Twin technology, ensuring a power reserve of 65 hours, and its self-winding system runs through an off-centre micro-rotor in 22-carat gold, whose density contributes to the movement's slim. Recalling the attention to detail of emotional artisans, each bridge is decorated with Côtes de Genève patterns, and all other movement components are finished in accordance with the Hallmark of Geneva standard.
exquisite aesthetics The thinness of the movement helps to optimize the proportions of the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS watch: the case is only 8mm thick, and the sides and bezel have been trimmed to make the dial wider compared to the classic Alpine Eagle Large model. These well-balanced proportions have always characterized the collection, infusing this timepiece with an elegant look.
Drawing inspiration from the forces of nature, the Alpine Eagle collection clearly reflects Chopard's rich creativity and visionary spirit. The Alpine Eagle 41 XPS retains this aesthetic: a round case with stylized designs on the sides, a compass rose engraved on the crown, eight functional screws on a tangent on the bezel, and a dial in intense color , luminous indicators and a very wear-resistant crown metal bracelet.
Lucent Steel A223: An Innovative Metal The Alpine Eagle 41 XPS watch is crafted in Lucent Steel A223, an innovative steel alloy composed of 85% recycled material, developed by Chopard for its anti-allergic benefits, and robustness achieved through a meticulous recasting process and unparalleled brilliance.

Unprecedented "Monte Rosa Pink" dial color The dial is textured on a brass base according to a pattern inspired by an eagle's iris. It features gold hands with X1-rated Super-LumiNova® – 60% brighter than traditional LumiNova and more resistant to aging. A new color makes its debut on the dial of this new model: like Aletsch Blue, Bernina Gray or Pink Dawn, "Monte Rosa Pink" is inspired by the palette of natural colors that make up the beauty of the Alps . Sure to whet the appetite of collectors, this novel shade evokes the pink shimmer from which the second tallest mountain in the Alps gets its name. The Dufourspitze/Punta Dufour located there is also the highest mountain in Switzerland.
Poinçon de Genève: a guarantee of craftsmanship Vertically integrated throughout the production process, Chopard manufactures and assembles all components of its Alpine Eagle collection in-house, from movement to case to bracelet. The entire timepiece is therefore certified with the Poinçon de Genève quality mark. The latter guarantee the impeccable quality and smooth operation of the timepieces assembled in Guangdong. The case back and main movement bridges bear the coat of arms of the city of Geneva, composed of a golden key and, above all, an eagle: a symbol that recalls the original inspiration of the Alpine Eagle collection. After the Alpine Eagle Flying Tourbillon, the Alpine Eagle 41 XPS is the second watch in the collection to receive this prestigious label of excellence.
Pink Opal, Gentle and Tranquil This new addition to the Happy Hearts collection features pink opal. In addition to its soft and delicate color, pink opal, found mainly in the Peruvian Andes, also enjoys good symbolism. Regarded as the heart chakra stone in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, it is said to have emotionally soothing properties that induce feelings of peace and tranquility. It is also thought to stimulate imagination and creativity, and encourages open-mindedness and self-acceptance. These powerful symbols resonate naturally with Happy Hearts amulets and no doubt impart some magic to the big-hearted women they adorn.
