With the Oklahoma City Thunder just 5-4 since Russell Westbrook went down with a knee injury, All-Star forward Kevin Durant is taking his fair share of the blame. "Im not doing enough to help them," Durant told The Oklahoman on Monday of his 28-9 team. "Im shooting too much. Im shooting too many threes. Im not helping them out at all. So its not on them." Westbrook has undergone his third knee surgery in eight months and Durant knows that he and his team need to step up in the star guards absence. "The first few games without Russell, we did a great job moving the ball," the 25-year-old, whose 29.6 points per game is good for the best in the NBA, explained. "I think now Im just flat out shooting too much. I have to find a way to get my teammates easier shots. Ive been thinking these last few games in order for us to get it going I have to do it all offensively. But, nah, we have to do it together. Its a great learning experience for me. Its the first time Ive really been in that type of position. But I just have to get everybody involved. I may have to pass up a few to find a better shot." Yeah. Lets be quite frank about that. We are playing Brooklyn in their arena, one of our rivals, and we want to win." Anthony then said he wants to have a big game and that the team as a whole should have the same mentality. Anthony, the NBAs reigning leading scorer, is second in the league with 26.3 points per game and will see a familiar face on the opposing side in Nets head coach Jason Kidd. Kidd and Anthony were teammates last season in New York. "We have to get used to it," Anthony said of seeing Kidd. "Im still getting used to it because just a couple of months ago he had a uniform on with us. To see him in a suit now coaching ... trying to get used to that." A reporter told Anthony that Kidd was asked about Thursdays battle between the Knicks and Nets and responded, "we both stink right now." "We do. He wasnt lying about that. I mean we do," Anthony said with a smile. "For us we have to figure it out and try to turn it around ASAP. We have to play with some more energy, some more effort."
